Getting Tired Of Me Yet?

O.K. so I've started a new little outfit for my oldest grand daughter.... it's her birthday soon... and well, a gramma has to do some sewing for little girls! Boys just don't always appreciate sewn items... but little girls usually do! I'm using Simplicity #7133  which is an op (outta print) view hmmmm, well I can't see which letter view it is.... but, it's the white outfit and I found this cute little seer-sucker a couple years ago... maybe even last year... and it has my grands name all over it! She likes pink and porple (as she says it) very much! She is all girl!     I will have to take a picture of her in it... later!

A Busy Saturday

We have a grundle of bikers (as in bicycle type road bike) riders in this family. And we albeit, about half of the family riders and several friends of the family we started out on "The First Annual Ride" from Park City Utah to Wolf Creek, Utah. There were a few minor confusions, but in all great events... we must have a breaking in period. We met at our starting point..... with all but 2 of the riders expected; The little guy was just  one of the support crew (our neice's son Ammon). Starting from the left; my hubby, then a friend from Church, Dan Evans, Neice's hubby Wes, Josh (a friend of our SIL/Daughter), SIL Kevin, Daughter Melisa, Ammon, Neice Jenny, Josh (yes.... there were 2 of them... less confusing then you think... when there are 2 new people to get to know.... nice to know they both have the same name... easier to remember!) this was Mountain Bike Man!!! The entire ride was to be around 100 miles, in one day... hills, straights, and some beautiful countryside! He did over 50 miles..... on a mountain bike! Yeahhhh Josh! First time rider (long distance that is).  Oh, I forgot to mention that also in the support crew were my SIL Tammy, (no picture), her granddaughter Ellie Kate, also one more grandson.... Isac. And besides me, there was our grandson Cameron. Also no picture.... except towards the end you see him from the back as I took a picture of his mom/dad.
We had to wait for 2 riders to meet up with us and while waiting; I snapped a picture of the local Thistle.

My daughter cheering on one of the Josh's, the finish
was on a hill, so it was a hard ending!! He did it all,
so he should be proud of himself!
Here they all are, they managed to finish up in one piece. We lost a couple of riders.... I guess what I mean to say is that some of our riders finished up at different places and went home. We had 2 that met up with us, and 1 that started with us but as I said, they left us at different places. It was an interesting, beautiful ride. It would have been much better had some of the riders not gotten lost.... but, as I said before, your always going to have a few problems the first time you start out a new adventure! All in all, everyone was tired and enjoyed the ride. Especially the challenge of it all!
I took this of my SIL and Daughter.... he really wasn't sticking his tongue out... I just caught it wrong... maybe I had better check the other one I took of them!

O.K. here is the better of the two pictures. Sorry Kevin! Oh, and the backside of grandson!

And last but not least, someone who is very happy to have us back home again! She was smiling, look into that face.... her eyes are closed! Talk about content!
All in all it was a great day..... one that started at 4:30 a.m. when we woke up... and finished when we got home around 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. when we got back home! Oh, we did have a bar-b-q at the neices when all was said and done.... there were a lot of very tired people there!

Part II of; You Know Your A Red Neck If.....

As they say proof is in the pudding; here is the picture I promised of the truck with said..... stirrups!

Oh, and if you look really close, you can see at least one of the stirrups on the other side too!
Always nice to know that we all have somewhat different characteristics! I rest my case!

Missing Quilts..... Disappeared While Here In Our Area!

One of the blogs I read is Allie Aller's. It's such a shame that this has happened. Please keep your eyes and ears open and if you see/hear anything please contact the contact address here:  ctinfo@ctpub.com.

Dear Readers,

As many of you know every year we look forward to displaying our authors' quilts in our booth at Quilt Market. At Salt Lake City's Spring Market the booth looked fantastic with so many stunning quilts. We know how important our authors' quilts are—the expertise, time, and love that goes into each and every stitch, and for that reason, we take great responsibility for them while they're in our care. So it is with a heavy heart that we regret to inform you that at the close of Salt Lake City's Spring Quilt Market, four quilts went missing. The quilts that are unaccounted for are 3 cover quilts and a table runner. They include:

Allie Aller's cover quilt Crazy in the Garden from the book Allie Aller's Crazy QuiltingJoyce Becker's cover quilt Dryer Lint Etc. from the book Quick Little Landscape Quilts

When the crate came back from Quilt Market and was unpacked, it became apparent that these quilts were missing. We went on high alert. We searched high and low, going through every box, drape, tube, you name it we checked it (twice) and to our deep regret the quilts were nowhere to be found.

Our entire company is mortified by this situation. We have racked our brains and tried to figure out what could have happened to these quilts, to no avail. We are reaching out to you, our readers, for help. We wanted to make you aware of the situation so that you too could keep your eyes and ears open in the hopes of finding these missing works of art. We are offering a reward of $4,000.00—no questions asked—for the return of the quilts. If one quilt is returned, the reward will be based upon the appraised value of the quilt. Information or inquiries can be sent to ctinfo@ctpub.com.

Just A Quick Post

Just wanted you to know that our little 4-legged friend is feeling much better! I took her to the vet's and ended up with an  anti-biotic and a anti-inflammatory  prescription. It's been a couple days now and she is doing sooo much better! A happy camper..... me too. I can stop worrying so much now!

I took the first photo with her looking at me; then she had had enough! She is a sweetie though!  She lost 16 pounds.... heck of a way to loose the winter weight! But she is doing better now!

You Know Your A Red Neck If

Sorry to anyone that may take offense to the title... But maybe after I explain, you will get a chuckle out of as I did. When I'm good (mind you it's not every day, and then again.... not even every other day...) I go walking for the betterment of my health! Ahem, now you see what I mean about being good. So I take various routes when I walk so as to not be bored... plus I really don't like to walk where there is a lot of traffic and noise. I live in the country!!! It should be quiet and serene right? Right!  On one of my routes I go through a neighborhood a couple neighborhoods over. Where in lays said Red Neck! I don't have a picture yet because I only take my cell with me and to be totally honest, I have no idea how to transfer any picture's from my cell to my computer.... let alone to my blog!  O.K. so the picture that I need to get is of a cream/white pick up truck and I believe it has an extended cab on it.... but it has instead of a step or one of those bars to help you step into the truck...........
wait for it.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. It has stir-ups! One for the driver, his/or her (let me be correct in this) side passenger and then the two rear passengers also have stir-ups to use to climb into said Pick up truck!  I know what your thinking.... sure we believe that! I will take my camera and get a picture you will see...!

In the mean time, hope that you all are doing "jus" fine out there.... and don't step in any  "pies" if you know what I mean!

Show & Tell

Alright, let's see if I can get this thing to post my pictures. I just went from old to new editor.
I've been busy as I said in my last post, and here are a few of the
reason why;
First off;  My DH's b/day and we ordered him a new watch.... cross that..... two (2) new watches. Namely because the 1st one; that had already been shipped.... yeah, it wasn't the one he wanted! Let's be clear here.... it's all his fault! Not one to point fingers..... (ahem... well maybe just a little!), he was trying to be the good guy and go for the less expensive one, although it wasn't really what he wanted! So, I ordered that one and found out the truth! And yes.... I had to re-order and these two pic's are what the box looked like for the watch he actually wanted. Let's just say, I was a bit concerned (thus the reason for pictures of the box! (To prove to the co. that any damage.... was caused in shipping!)
Forgive the cute pic of my toe, it sorta snuck in on it's own.

Did I show this to you all? O.K. this one I did in May, or towards the first of June. B/4 the birthday and watch fun. Of course, I had to send the first watch back.... but that's something else, I didn't have the free return label with me, so had to have DD#3 make a print of it and get it to me!  After the 2nd trip to the UPS people it was sent off. The watch we did want was just fine... thankfully.

This is another donation quilt, I counted up how many blocks I had and then figured out on graft paper how I wanted to lay it out. Remember good ole graft paper.... it still works!

Alright, this is the quilt I put together for our youngest little granddaughter... here is the front;  I pieced it and then machine quilted it.... don't look too closely!

And then here is the back.... aren't the little frog's and turtles and birds cute! They are so much like characters from the the book "The Wind In The Willows". I think I need to find a copy of  it
to go along with this, well, it will have to go later, because I already sent the quilt! Maybe for her birthday or Christmas.

And then remember back a while...... a lonnnnng while ago, I had a white dress that I added some eyelet too and then wanted to add sleeves too? Well, this lace doily.. imagine it cut down the middle about here.   I forgot to take pic's (oops) anyway, first I cut out sleeves from some soft white Lycra and hemmed them. Then I gathered the cut edge, and placed it at the top of the Lycra sleeve and stitched them together. The sleeve's were set in and the only thing I need to do now (besides take out one of the sleeves because I wasn't very accurate!) is stitch the finished edges to the hemmed Lycra and do a couple of little tucks to round up the square-ness..... is there such a word? When it's completely done, I will post a picture!

And last but very far from least..... our 4 legged friend has gotten sick! We made a visit to our friendly dog doctor and they did tests. With results soon.... hopefully it's not anything terribly serious. Although, she does look sad, and doesn't want to eat. So she lost some weight. This is a B/4 pic. We shall see about a later pic.

Hope that you are all busy doing something fun.... Because of our Annual Pioneer Day celebration on the 24th of July (When the Pioneers came into the Salt Lake Valley) we will have Fire Works this weekend, which is fun because we have them most all of the months of June/July. Not bad hmmmm, good way to spend the Summer. And we don't have to pay to see them! What is neat is that each little town/city has it's own little Heritage celebration and also does Fireworks.... that's why we have they about all June/July! See.... now you've learned something new haven't you! You didn't know that this was also an Educational blog. LoL...
Take care..... and don't drop your pins on the floor.... if you do.... you may find them the hard way!

New Motto; Work Harder, Hide Better!

This will be a shortened version of the post I previously wrote; I had it all ready and hit post and nothing! Yep.... nothing like loosing a post to waste a bunch of time. Oh, and it's mostly shorter because I won't be able to remember everything that I wrote before! LOL.... what do you expect? These are the ramblings of a seamstress, wife, mom, grandma..... daughter.... etc.!
I've been keeping out of mischief..... (just barely!) cutting out squares (of all sizes.... just to have on hand, so when I'm ready to use them they will be available). I have been helping my MIL clear out and clean out some of her closets of old outdated items..... make-up, lotions... things that she wanted me to donate to the local D.I. (Deseret Industries). But to be honest, most all of the stuff was sooo old, they just wouldn't want them. So, I saved the D.I. from having to chuck them into the garbage and did it myself! We went thru old sheet sets that they have had since they lived in their last home (some 15 plus years ago) and managed to do a very good clear out! Some of the sheets came home with me to pass onto others and then to the D.I. the ones that no one cared about!
Last week I helped out my friend Karma.... what with MSN e-mail changing over to charging people it had to be done b/4 the 1st of July! The poor guy was sooo hard to understand (I believe it was outsourced) I'm sure that when he was done talking to us.... he begged his boss/supervisor for a break! But, we got it done and after we took all the time to switch all of her favorites by putting them into new messages and sending them to her new email address.... (and it took forever!) What should we find.... when they switched her address book etc.... they switched her favorites too! Try to figure that one out? When we did mine, I had to change mine myself.... and the guy even told us that no, they would not be doing that for her! Weird!

Also took care of the grandkids a couple few times.... and we at one point walked over to a neighboring farm friends house to buy eggs. Grandson (oldest) asked how come we didn't buy them at the store? I explained that they are fresher this way.... plus I wanted the kids to see the farm a bit. They got to play with some kittens and I got to visit with my friend Linda. We talked about her wanting to learn how to make Crazy Quilts. So.... guess that's something we can work at later in the year when it's a bit cooler! Just when I was thinking that it was time that the grands mom should be showing up..... I get a phone call to tell me that she had been in a fender bender, but was fine. Fortunately they were not moving very fast, and she was in a Jeep! She needs a new bumper, and the guy behind, that hit her? I'm thinking that she said that his car was a mess! He was driving with Flip-Flops on and his foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas! I'm telling you... I love my Jeep! Our youngest daughter drove my Jeep Grand Cherokee to work one day and got smashed between two pick up trucks! She and the one in front were slowed down because of stop and go traffic on the freeway.... the truck behind her hadn't seen that traffic had slowed down.... he hit her pretty hard and pushed her into the truck in front of her!
It did total my jeep, (and yes.... I was very sad to loose it!) she had some whiplash, but that was all! If she had been in a little car like one of those small economy cars.... I don't think that the ending would have been the same! I love my Jeeps! I can drive them most any where, and flip a few levers and have all the cargo space that I need/want. I'm not very patient when it comes to waiting for my DH to haul something for me in his pick-up truck! I've had 4 Jeeps and DH has had one, our son has had one, and now one of the daughters has one.

I've been back at trying to loose weight again....working harder that is. It seems to find me again once I've lost it.... so I just need to Work Harder, and Hide Better! This is my new Motto/Mantra something like that! LoL...

I hemmed a pair of pants and altered a couple of blouses for our 2nd to youngest daughter, who is doing a great job working on loosing weight! Looking Good Heather!

Hmmmm, there have been tons of other things that I've been up too.... but well besides not remembering them all, and not wanting to bore you completely.... suffice it to say that I've been reading a lot of blogs and writing comments.... just not writing on my blog!

Best to get to the things I need to do.... make sure the sheets are almost dry etc..... and oh, yes.... I do remember one thing that I was going to post about. Have you seen one of these Rotary Mats? They swival? They are sooo cool!

Since I've been cutting out so many squares etc.... I thought one of these would be wonderful! So, I waited until Joann's had a 50% off sale and got a great deal on one! Now, there are other sizes, and brands but I liked the size of this one and am really tickled with it! It rotates so after you trim one side you can move it to the next side etc... without repossitioning the entire item each time. It saves time and well.... like I said before..... it's cool! Just something I thought I would pass onto you all.
Take care..... If you keep a spool of Black and a spool of White thread handy.... you can sew most anything!

This Is Just a Test!

This is only a test...... I wrote an entire post.... and saved it.... and it dissapeared off the face of the blog!!!
